Cathan's first few weeks

We've been home from the hosptial now for 3 weeks and are loving being parents and getting used to a baby in the house. Cathan is such a good baby, he sleeps 4 hours at a time at night and cries only when he wants food or wants to be held. He is a huge cuddler, he will fall asleep in your arms but as soon as your try to move him somewhere else he is wide awake! He loves sleeping in our bed, probably because it is so comfy and warm in between his mom and dad. He has such a little personality. He has so much blonde hair and is looking more and more like Ryan!

We also built a fort last night and had fun eating dinner in it. Cathan even loved looking up at all the pretty colors! You can see him chilling in there in the bottom photo!

We are so happy to have him in our lives! We were induced on Wednesday February 11th at 10pm and labored for 17 hours until they decided that they needed to get him out with a c section. It was a scary thing and not something we really wanted but we wanted what was best for our baby. The surgery went fine and we're both recovering just wonderfully! Ryan absolutely loves holding his little boy!

Kami also had a family shower a week ago and here are some pictures! (I will have to post more when I get home with my camera)

Ward Shower

I was lucky enough to have a baby shower thrown for me by one of my bestest friends Christee and Rachel!! It was all the women and girls from my mom's ward (my old ward) and I got some pretty darn cute stuff!
One of my favorite gifts was a mini finger puppet Herman!!! Which I'm sure no one will understand unless you're my sibling. Mini Herman is pictured here with the original HERMAN!

I went to the doctor yesterday and she said everything looks great with the baby. I had to be hooked up to all these monitors and left alone in this tiny room for a half hour to measure contractions and the baby's heartbeat but it all turned out good. I'm starting to have little contractions so we're hoping in the next week or so we'll have our baby here!!!!

Baby Watch

I thought we should give a little update because it is getting closer to baby time! We have been meeting with the doctor and at our last appointment they told me I may have preeclampsia which is not something fun to have. They have me monitoring my blood pressure daily and doing all sorts of tests but on Wednesday we go back in and get the final word. Hopefully it's good news but I don't know what the good news'll be. Part of me hopes they say 'let's take this baby' but the other part knows everyday my baby stays in there it is getting stronger and healthier so we'll see!

We are getting prepared for whenever this baby decides to get here so lately we've been out buying essentials to pack in our hospital bag. Ryan is getting really excited and has even made a list of all the new and greatest things for babies that we need to try.

Ryan told me I needed to update my blog for reasons i'm not quite sure of but what is a blog without some pictures!

You would not believe how hard it is to get a good picture of being pregnant at 8 months! We had to try some very tricky angles to hide my double chin, yes i've put on weight but hopefully i'll be able to lose it soon after.

This year we had an extra tree at our house so Ryan set it up in the babies room and decorated it with stuffed animals we had lying around so I had to get a picture of it before it got taken down!

November and December

Yes we are way overdue for an update so now we are finally up to date starting at the bottom is the oldest stuff and to currently (christmas). We're doing just great. As you can tell this baby is getting bigger and getting Kami bigger in the process! We're excited to have our baby here soon!

This is our Christmas haul. I got a cricut expression from Ryan and a glider from my parents. We are so happy with all of our gifts so thank you to everyone!

Ryan got spoiled and got Guitar Hero World Tour from his mommy, he was so excited. Now our only problem is we don't have enough family members to play all the parts.

Ryan loved all the tools his in-laws gave him for Christmas, he's a kid in a candy store when it comes to using them.

We were able to go to Chuck E Cheese with my brothers family but Ryan couldn't help but ride the rides!

My brother and his wonderful wife Margie were married in early Decemeber. This is my oldest brother Chris and his wife Sarah being sultry in their dance moves.

BYU vs. UTAH game. Ryan's work had a big party and we watched the game on like 4 huge projector screens and ate and had a great time. Ryan had a bet that if BYU (which they did) he would shave his head. One of his best friends Aaron Halls did the honors.

And he even got put up on the big screens!
