Family Tree

I just had to share my first real craft project. While it may not look like it was too hard to do, it took me forever and it is finally completed! I made a family tree for Cathan!

I put all of our immediate families pictures on a magnet that attracts itself to the magnet board so Cathan can move people's faces around. I think it will be fun for Cathan and help him remember his cousins in Oklahoma that we don't get to see too often!

Hopefully, this tree will keep on growing!

Christmas

No your eyes are not deceiving you, this is a new blog post from the Waite family. There is way too much to catch up on so I will just start with Christmas and maybe I can try to keep on top of our blog through the new year!

Christmas was wonderful this year and we got spoiled again. A few weeks ago we agreed to help another family out this Christmas because we know how blessed we are to have so much "stuff" and we certainly didn't need anything more this year. We decided to use the money we would have spent on each other to buy a family some gifts for Christmas. We asked the bishop for a name from our ward. We were expected maybe a little family who was struggling but were stunned when we learned it was going to be a family of 8! We busily went out and shopped for each member of the family and we actually had so much fun!!! We wrapped all the gifts and on Christmas Eve decided to run them over and deliver them. We lugged all 4 boxes full of gifts to their front door and rang the doorbell and RAN! Turns out, they were not home so we lugged the boxes back to the car. We went to the Quilter's for their traditional Christmas Eve dinner and boy was it yummy! We even got to play some Christmas Bingo....with PRIZES! On our way home from Christmas Eve dinner we drove by our families house to see if they were home, no such luck. We were driving down the street when we noticed a van pulling into their driveway. We drove around for a little bit and then went back and dropped off the gifts! It was a great feeling knowing that they were probably stunned at receiving something they hadn't expected. Now, I wouldn't have mentioned this story unless there was a twist. We got home and unloaded our car and were walking in the back door when we ran into a HUGE pile of wrapped gifts on our doorstep! We were speechless. We carried the presents into the living room in silence because we were just too stunned to even ask who and why someone would do this for us. We sat in our living room just looking at about a dozen huge gifts. We of course accused each other of being behind it and then our families. No one was taking any credit and still today, I have no idea who would show us this kindness. We were content with having a very low-key Christmas and feeling the joy of giving but we were the ones who ended up being blessed! We ended up having so much to open on Christmas morning. Cathan was not too happy having had to wake up so early. We hit every stop on Christmas: Quilters, Waite's, Haacke's, Bryce and Denise's, and back to Waite's! And now for the pictures....that's the whole reason you look at a blog anyway!
