Family Tree

I just had to share my first real craft project. While it may not look like it was too hard to do, it took me forever and it is finally completed! I made a family tree for Cathan!

I put all of our immediate families pictures on a magnet that attracts itself to the magnet board so Cathan can move people's faces around. I think it will be fun for Cathan and help him remember his cousins in Oklahoma that we don't get to see too often!

Hopefully, this tree will keep on growing!

Christmas

No your eyes are not deceiving you, this is a new blog post from the Waite family. There is way too much to catch up on so I will just start with Christmas and maybe I can try to keep on top of our blog through the new year!

Christmas was wonderful this year and we got spoiled again. A few weeks ago we agreed to help another family out this Christmas because we know how blessed we are to have so much "stuff" and we certainly didn't need anything more this year. We decided to use the money we would have spent on each other to buy a family some gifts for Christmas. We asked the bishop for a name from our ward. We were expected maybe a little family who was struggling but were stunned when we learned it was going to be a family of 8! We busily went out and shopped for each member of the family and we actually had so much fun!!! We wrapped all the gifts and on Christmas Eve decided to run them over and deliver them. We lugged all 4 boxes full of gifts to their front door and rang the doorbell and RAN! Turns out, they were not home so we lugged the boxes back to the car. We went to the Quilter's for their traditional Christmas Eve dinner and boy was it yummy! We even got to play some Christmas Bingo....with PRIZES! On our way home from Christmas Eve dinner we drove by our families house to see if they were home, no such luck. We were driving down the street when we noticed a van pulling into their driveway. We drove around for a little bit and then went back and dropped off the gifts! It was a great feeling knowing that they were probably stunned at receiving something they hadn't expected. Now, I wouldn't have mentioned this story unless there was a twist. We got home and unloaded our car and were walking in the back door when we ran into a HUGE pile of wrapped gifts on our doorstep! We were speechless. We carried the presents into the living room in silence because we were just too stunned to even ask who and why someone would do this for us. We sat in our living room just looking at about a dozen huge gifts. We of course accused each other of being behind it and then our families. No one was taking any credit and still today, I have no idea who would show us this kindness. We were content with having a very low-key Christmas and feeling the joy of giving but we were the ones who ended up being blessed! We ended up having so much to open on Christmas morning. Cathan was not too happy having had to wake up so early. We hit every stop on Christmas: Quilters, Waite's, Haacke's, Bryce and Denise's, and back to Waite's! And now for the pictures....that's the whole reason you look at a blog anyway!

Since I have been so slow at updating our blog, I thought that I should have a few post. I wonder if you can guess what we were for Halloween. Hope you had a great Halloween. I also want to congratulate Chris and Sarah on the birth of their new baby boy, CONGRATULATIONS!!

This is Cathan's new toy. His Great Aunt Andrea gave this to us. He loves it. He plays with it all day.

Family Photo's

We had some family photo's taken back in september. So I should change the date on this entry back to september but I don't know how to do that.

We had a lot of fun taking the photos and if you see any that you like and want some I can send them to you, just let me know.

I guess it is time for some words. I know that some of you have already looked at the pictures. Sorry. It has taken me a while to get some time to sit down and write this. Anyway, it’s been a long time since we updated so there is a lot to talk about. Let’s start with the 4th of July. We had a great time with the Quilters and the Kaysville Parade.

Ryan got a Tie. The missionary mall was driving down the parade route throwing stuff out. That was cool. Then we had a good time at the huge family bar-b-que. Lots of the Haacke's were there. Later that night, we got ready for the fireworks. You can't believe how many tries it took to get that photo.

It was now Ryan's Birthday and we decided to spend his birthday at the sunset city days. It was lots of fun. They had a parade in the morning and activities at the park by our house. We went to play bingo and won the big grand prize. We got camp chairs camp stove, 20 gift card to Harmon’s, roasting sticks, and sleeping bags. We used that stuff a few days ago to go camping but that is another story for another post.

I guess the picture that I had got deleted. I’ll have to get it back.

We also had to take Cathan to the hospital to have his growth in his mouth removed. This picture was taken while Cathan was starving; he hadn’t eaten anything since the night before. He was such a trooper and did such a good job at the hospital. He didn’t really have any problems after the surgery. We are so proud of him.

As a family we have all decided that we were going to do things that are fun and free. One of the things that we saw on our bulletin board at our church was that there were free concerts at a park in Salt Lake. This concert was lots of fun. Cathan loved it. He was dancing and playing with us.
Also since the last time we were on, we went to the Farmington pool with the quilter’s ward. Cathan loves getting in the pool and I can say that his parents like it to. We had lots of fun at the pool. Cathan likes to splash and spin around in circle. Kami had lots of fun playing with him. That was his first experience in a shower. Ryan took him in to change him and get the chlorine off of him. He likes the shower. I didn’t think that he would.
Unfortunately for this last activity we did not take Cathan. We are just worried parents and don’t want to take him on the boat. We went out for a day of wakeboarding. The first time this year. We took Matt Hall and one of his friends with us.
If you had fun reading this blog, good for you. We will be better at writing more frequently. Have fun for now.

Trip to Disney land

So it’s about time we update our blog and Kami has given the responsibility to me this time. Sorry it has been a while and I know that some of you check often. I’ll try to keep up on it. We recently went to Disneyland and had a great time with my family. We drove the there stopping in Vegas for the night. We then continued the drive for Disneyland. The first day there we went back into Toon Town to get some pictures. We managed to find some of the character while we were there.

I was so excited to meet goofy. He looks and acts just like me :-)

We spent our days at Disney land and our nights at my mom’s condo. They had a nice swimming pool and hot tubs on the roof. We saw fire works on Friday night before we came home. We wanted to watch them from the roof but as soon as Cathan’s foot touched the water he decided to taint it with his special "medicine". We had to take him down to the room and clean him up. We didn’t tell anyone what he did in the hot tub 'the chlorine will take care of it'. We had so much fun riding all the rides and taking Cathan on the rides. I was surprised at how many rides he could go on.

We took him on a Bugs Life. I had forgotten how scary that show is. Well in the show there is a part where it shoots you with water. You could probably imagine Cathan reaction. He screamed and screamed and screamed until he ran out of air in his lungs and then kept screaming. I was laughing, Kami was kind to him and took him out of his seat and comforted him. I guess that really does make me a dad. We just laugh at our kids when stuff like that happens. We have so many stories of things that happened that I will keep updating the blog with other stories. For now, enjoy the pictures we have.

My whole family except the one on the mission (Brandon)

We ate at RainForest Cafe. It was really good. I liked it a lot. Kami did to I guess.

We thought that Cathan looked a lot like pluto so we put him in his bed.

Kami is such an escape artist.

We had a fun time on Finding Nemo. It wasn't as cool as it looked but was still really fun.

This concluded our days at Disney Land. It was so sad.

We then went to Wendover and gamled like crazy kids in a candy shop.

Really though we don't like gambling. We just had to try it once.

Update

A few weeks ago we were invited to my brothers house for dinner. Chad actually made dinner (ok Margie made it too but according to Margie it wouldn't have been the same without Chad's input)! They also introduced us to Rook which we love playing! Ryan knows that Cathan's eyesight isn't far so he walked around their home putting him close to objects, even Uncle Chad!

We also went to the midnight DVD release of Twilight. We waited a half hour and they ran out of dvd's so we booked it out of there (hence the "i'm outta here" look on my face). Sweet Ryan then went to Smiths Grocery and asked if they were selling it but they told him that they wouldn't be putting it on sale for a few hours so Ryan put his charm on and talked the lady into giving him one early! YAY! I watched it everyday for a few days!

This is how Cathan and I sleep every morning!

Lucky 5!

So this is circulating in the blog world..... My adorable Sister-in-law Sarah was nice enough to share this info with me and it sounds like fun!! Sign up, you won't be sorry! The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me, Kami! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:
1-I make no guarantees that you will like what I make(but you better pretend you do!)
2- What I create will be just for you.
3-It'll be done by May 1st (give me some time, I'm not a super creative person)
4-You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may scrapbook something. I may cut you something with my cricut. Maybe Cathan and I will "make" a trip to come see you (does not apply to Sarah, ha ha)! Who knows? Not you, that's for sure! The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did it will then win a fabulous homemade gift made by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! Have fun playing!

Cathan's first few weeks

We've been home from the hosptial now for 3 weeks and are loving being parents and getting used to a baby in the house. Cathan is such a good baby, he sleeps 4 hours at a time at night and cries only when he wants food or wants to be held. He is a huge cuddler, he will fall asleep in your arms but as soon as your try to move him somewhere else he is wide awake! He loves sleeping in our bed, probably because it is so comfy and warm in between his mom and dad. He has such a little personality. He has so much blonde hair and is looking more and more like Ryan!
He loves taking baths.....
And playing with daddy.......
And being adorable.......(or scared)
Mom loves him......
And he loves mom....
We also built a fort last night and had fun eating dinner in it. Cathan even loved looking up at all the pretty colors! You can see him chilling in there in the bottom photo!

Welcome to the world!

Cathan DelRay Waite
February 12 th 2008
8 lbs. 8 oz.
21 inches

We are so happy to have him in our lives! We were induced on Wednesday February 11th at 10pm and labored for 17 hours until they decided that they needed to get him out with a c section. It was a scary thing and not something we really wanted but we wanted what was best for our baby. The surgery went fine and we're both recovering just wonderfully! Ryan absolutely loves holding his little boy!

Kami also had a family shower a week ago and here are some pictures! (I will have to post more when I get home with my camera)
